Jean-Noel Poirier
Managing Partner
Jean-Noel Poirier has extensive operating and investment experience. He served as Executive Managing Director of the Clean Energy Venture Group (CEVG) and built a 20 year executive career as CEO of Inventec Performance Chemicals, senior executive at Global Solar Energy, First Solar and Honeywell International among other roles, and serves on a number of committees in the climatetech sector ecosystem.

Kathleen Hebert

Kathleen Hebert is a board member of E8 Angels where she serves on the screening committee, leads diligence teams, and is an advisor to the Decarbon8 Fund. Deeply involved in clean technology investment and climate action, she serves on the boards of The Nature Conservancy of Washington, the Clean Energy Transition Institute, and was a 2015 Northwest Conservation Fellow with a focus on Water Sustainability. Kathleen was a Corporate Vice President at Microsoft and a strategy consultant at BCG.

Lars Johansson
Founding Partner
Lars Johansson is an experienced angel investor and fund manager, having actively invested in the climate tech sector for 15 years. He is a manager of the Element 8 Fund, our successful predecessor fund, and has been a long-term board member of E8 Angels. Lars’ background is in technology, where he was an executive at Microsoft for 17 years, initially in his native country of Sweden before being asked to transition to its headquarters.

Jeff Canin

Jeff Canin serves is a Board Member of E8 Angels and Manager of the Element 8 Fund I. Jeff serves as Investor-in-Residence and Advisory Board Member at the University of Washington’s Clean Energy Institute, and is a member of the Investment Committee of Portland-based VertueLab. Previously, he was an EIR at the University of Washington and Oregon State University, and has over 20 years’ experience as a venture capitalist, investment banker and tech stock financial analyst.
